An inside mount attaches to the inside top of your window frame and the blind sits entirely within the frame. Your recess must be at least 65mm to do this. An outside mount attaches to the wall or architrave above the window. The blind sits outside the frame and covers the whole window area, including frame and architraves.
For an inside mount, measure the inside width of your window frame at the top, middle and bottom of the frame in millimetres. Use the smallest of the three measurements. For an outside mount, measure the desired width of your blind in millimetres. We recommend taking it to the outside edges of your frame or architrave. Where there is no architrave or frame we recommend making it at least 40mm wider than the window opening.
For an inside mount, measure the drop of the opening from the inside top of the window frame to the top of the sill in millimetres. For an outside mount, measure the desired drop from the top of the architrave or frame to the sill (or lower if desired). You will require 30mm of frame or architrave to mount the control brackets to so, where there is less than 30mm, measure from a point at least 40mm above the window.
A front roll rolls toward the front of the roller and allows space between the blind and glass, providing clearance for window latches or door handles. A back roll rolls toward the back side of the roller, allowing a closer fit between the glass and blind.
The roller blind is controlled by a chain at one end of the blind. Select which side you want this on, taking into account accessibility as well as the look.
We recommend matching the chain colour to either the roller blind fabric, to the window frame or to the control and rail colours.
The control is the mechanism that controls the movement of your blind and includes the brackets that fix your blind to the wall, architrave or window frame. We suggest matching it to the roller blind fabric, to the window frame or to the chain and/or rail colours.
The rail is the aluminium profile along the bottom of the blind that anchors the fabric. We suggest matching the rail to the roller blind fabric, to the window frame or to the control and/or chain colour.
A child lock is used to secure your blind chain to the window frame or wall so that it does not hang loose. It is an important safety device that prevents young children from putting their heads through the chain and suffering a tragic accident. We highly recommend its use in any home where young children may be present.
